Documentation

One subsection per page, so each topic stays readable. Use the tabs above to move between them.

Install the extension

  1. Install Issue Ticca Commit Tracker from the VS Code Marketplace (issue-ticca-commit-tracker), or press F5 inside the extension repository to run it from source.
  2. Open Commit Tracker in the activity bar. Tracking starts automatically.
  3. Enable publishing (publisher.enabled).
  4. Add a hook pointing at this portal.
  5. Store the portal's ingestion token in VS Code secret storage.
  6. Test the connection, then backfill the history you already have.

The extension contains no HTTP code of its own: it captures commits, queues them, and hands them to python/commit_relay.py, which owns retries, backoff and authentication.

Configure the hook

{
  "issue-ticca-commit-tracker.publisher.enabled": true,
  "issue-ticca-commit-tracker.hooks": [
    {
      "name": "Issue Ticca Portal",
      "url": "https://issue-ticca.buyerkraze.com/api/git/commits/",
      "repositories": []
    }
  ]
}

repositories empty sends every repository. List folder names, absolute paths or globs such as issue-* to narrow it. Configure as many hooks as you like — each with its own URL, token, request shape and repository filter.

Whole-hook reference

FieldPurpose
nameLabel in VS Code. Defaults to the URL.
urlDestination. Required.
repositoriesWhich repositories to send. Empty = all.
enabledPark a hook without deleting it.
modebatch or single per request.
batchSizeCommits per request.

Authenticate

Run Commit Tracker: Set API Token for a Hook and paste the portal's COMMIT_INGEST_TOKEN.

The token goes into VS Code secret storage, keyed by URL, and reaches Python through an environment variable — never into settings.json, never onto a command line.

Then Test API Connection, and Send Tracked History to a Hook to backfill commits you already have.

Useful commands

Upload Pending CommitsDrain the queue now.
Manage HooksAdd hooks, allocate repositories, upload, test tokens — one panel.
Test API ConnectionProbe one hook, or all of them.
Discard Pending UploadsEmpty the queue without touching history.
Show Upload LogThe relay's own output, including stderr.

A rejected commit is dropped with a warning; a transient failure stays queued and is retried with backoff; a credential failure holds the queue instead of discarding it.

Where the data lands

In the commits register, where you can filter by project, export to CSV or PDF, and see the activity rate per hour and commits per project per day.
